UDA is committed to creating a positive, professional, respectful, and supportive environment for players, families, staff, coaches, partner universities, academy partners, club partners, program partners, and the wider UDA community.
Parents and guardians play an important role in supporting the player experience. This policy outlines the expectations for parent/guardian communication, conduct, support, attendance, program involvement, and family responsibilities connected to participation in a UDA Soccer Academy program or other UDA-related program, event, tour, camp, showcase, or activity.
By signing the Parent/Guardian Annual Agreements & Responsibilities in UDA Connect, parents/guardians acknowledge that they have reviewed this policy and agree to support these expectations.

Parent/Guardian Role
The role of a parent or guardian is to support the player’s academic, athletic, personal, and social development while respecting the structure and expectations of the UDA program.

- Support the player in meeting academic, athletic, attendance, conduct, and communication expectations.
- Encourage independence, maturity, accountability, and respectful communication.
- Support UDA staff, coaches, and program directors in maintaining a positive team environment.
- Communicate concerns respectfully and through the appropriate channels.
Communication & Privacy
Players who are 18 years of age or older are generally considered adults. Communication with parents/guardians may be limited by privacy requirements, player consent, and the nature of the situation.
If the player has provided appropriate consent, UDA may communicate with parents/guardians regarding matters such as:
Parents/guardians should communicate with UDA through official UDA communication channels.
Communication with coaching staff, program directors, UDA staff, or program partners should be respectful, timely, and appropriate. UDA reserves the right to limit or remove access to communication platforms if communication becomes inappropriate, disrespectful, disruptive, or damaging to the program environment.
If the player has provided appropriate consent, UDA may communicate with parents/guardians regarding matters such as:
- Program administration
- Payments and financial responsibilities
- Required forms and deadlines
- Emergency situations
- Player welfare or safety
- Attendance or participation concerns
- Conduct issues
- Travel, scheduling, or program logistics
- Academic or program-related support, where appropriate
Parents/guardians should communicate with UDA through official UDA communication channels.
Communication with coaching staff, program directors, UDA staff, or program partners should be respectful, timely, and appropriate. UDA reserves the right to limit or remove access to communication platforms if communication becomes inappropriate, disrespectful, disruptive, or damaging to the program environment.
Supportive Environment
Parents/guardians are expected to contribute to a positive and supportive academy environment.

- Support the team positively at matches, training sessions, events, tours, and academy activities.
- Avoid negative comments toward players, teammates, coaches, staff, officials, opponents, families, partner universities, academy partners, club partners, or program partners.
- Respect the emotional, academic, and athletic development of the player.
- Allow players to take ownership of their UDA experience.
Respect for Coaches, Staff & Officials
Parents/guardians must respect the decisions and responsibilities of UDA coaches, staff, program directors, match officials, partner universities, academy partners, club partners, and program representatives.
This includes decisions related to:
Parents/guardians should not approach coaches or officials during or immediately after training sessions or matches to question decisions. Concerns should be raised through the appropriate UDA communication process.

- Playing time
- Training structure
- Match strategy
- Player development
- Discipline
- Travel and scheduling
- Program expectations
- Academic, welfare, or player support
Parents/guardians should not approach coaches or officials during or immediately after training sessions or matches to question decisions. Concerns should be raised through the appropriate UDA communication process.

Parents/guardians are expected to use positive, respectful, and constructive communication at all times.
This applies to communication in person, by phone, by email, by text/SMS, through UDA Connect, through messaging platforms, and on social media.
Parents/guardians must not use communication channels to harass, intimidate, threaten, embarrass, criticize, or disparage players, families, coaches, staff, officials, UDA, partner universities, academy partners, club partners, program partners, or other members of the UDA community.
Concerns should be addressed calmly, respectfully, and through the appropriate program contact.
This applies to communication in person, by phone, by email, by text/SMS, through UDA Connect, through messaging platforms, and on social media.
Parents/guardians must not use communication channels to harass, intimidate, threaten, embarrass, criticize, or disparage players, families, coaches, staff, officials, UDA, partner universities, academy partners, club partners, program partners, or other members of the UDA community.

Social Media & Public Conduct
Parents/guardians are expected to represent the UDA community positively online and in public.
Parents/guardians must not post or share content that is abusive, discriminatory, harassing, threatening, misleading, confidential, or damaging to UDA, players, staff, coaches, families, universities, partners, or the academy community.
This includes posts, comments, messages, photos, videos, stories, reposts, reviews, and other public or private online activity connected to UDA.

Attendance, Travel & Scheduling
UDA programs may operate on a schedule that differs from a traditional university academic calendar or school calendar. Training, matches, league fixtures, events, travel, tours, and academy commitments may continue during periods when university classes or school sessions are not in session.
Parents/guardians are expected to support the player’s full participation in required UDA activities.
Where absences, family visits, travel plans, or schedule conflicts may affect the player’s participation, UDA should be notified in advance through the appropriate communication channel.

Financial Responsibilities
Parents/guardians who are financially responsible for a player’s participation are expected to review and follow all applicable financial policies, payment schedules, deposit terms, invoices, and deadlines.
Parents/guardians should communicate with UDA promptly if they have questions or concerns about payments, balances, invoices, deadlines, or financial arrangements.
Late or missed payments may affect the player’s participation in UDA activities.

Medical, Emergency & Player Support Information
Parents/guardians are responsible for helping ensure that the player’s medical, emergency contact, allergy, and relevant support information is accurate and up to date in UDA Connect.
If the player’s medical condition, emergency contact information, medications, allergies, injuries, or support needs change, the parent/guardian and/or player should update UDA promptly.
In emergency or welfare-related situations, UDA may contact parents/guardians where appropriate and permitted.
Parent/Guardian profile information may be used in place of separate Emergency Contact information where applicable.
If the player’s medical condition, emergency contact information, medications, allergies, injuries, or support needs change, the parent/guardian and/or player should update UDA promptly.
In emergency or welfare-related situations, UDA may contact parents/guardians where appropriate and permitted.
Parent/Guardian profile information may be used in place of separate Emergency Contact information where applicable.
Conduct & Consequences
Failure to follow the Parent/Guardian Policies & Family Code of Conduct may result in action by UDA.
This may include:
If parent/guardian conduct negatively affects the player, team, staff, academy environment, partner relationship, university relationship, or reputation of UDA, further action may be taken.
UDA also reserves the right to take appropriate action if a parent/guardian actively recruits, promotes, or recommends another soccer program to UDA players in a way that disrupts or undermines the academy environment.
This may include:
- A conversation with UDA staff
- A written warning
- Removal from communication platforms
- Restriction from attending matches, training sessions, events, tours, or academy activities
- Removal from parent/guardian groups or channels
- Other action deemed appropriate by UDA
If parent/guardian conduct negatively affects the player, team, staff, academy environment, partner relationship, university relationship, or reputation of UDA, further action may be taken.
UDA also reserves the right to take appropriate action if a parent/guardian actively recruits, promotes, or recommends another soccer program to UDA players in a way that disrupts or undermines the academy environment.
Legal Jurisdiction
Players may participate in UDA programs through different UDA entities, academies, universities, clubs, program partners, tours, events, or approved providers.
Additional terms may apply depending on the player’s academy, program, partner university, club partner, tour, event, country, or enrolment arrangement.
Where applicable, legal terms, governing law, jurisdiction, enrolment terms, payment terms, or program-specific requirements will be stated in the player’s program agreement, enrolment terms, invoice, UDA Connect forms, or other official UDA documentation.
Additional terms may apply depending on the player’s academy, program, partner university, club partner, tour, event, country, or enrolment arrangement.
Where applicable, legal terms, governing law, jurisdiction, enrolment terms, payment terms, or program-specific requirements will be stated in the player’s program agreement, enrolment terms, invoice, UDA Connect forms, or other official UDA documentation.

- I agree to communicate respectfully and through appropriate UDA channels.
- I agree to support the player in meeting UDA’s academic, athletic, attendance, conduct, communication, and program expectations.
- I understand that failure to follow this policy may result in action by UDA.
- I understand that UDA’s goal is to maintain a positive, respectful, professional, and supportive environment for all players, families, staff, coaches, partners, and academy participants.
