WHY UDA SOCCER?

The U.S. collegiate soccer system currently faces certain challenges that merit attention. The season is notably limited, and the extensive rosters contribute to a scarcity of development opportunities for highly talented players. Consequently, this limits the potential growth of student-athletes and hinders their ability to achieve optimal performance while fostering a positive experience within the collegiate soccer landscape.

The combination of a restricted playing season and an overabundance of players hampers the individual progress of
exceptionally skilled athletes. In this context, it becomes imperative to reevaluate the current approach to ensure that
these promising talents are adequately nurtured and provided with ample opportunities to showcase their abilities.

Ultimately, the objective is to create an environment that fosters growth and development for student-athletes in U.S.
collegiate soccer, enabling them to reach their full potential and derive a positive and rewarding experience from their
athletic endeavors. Addressing these challenges could pave the way for a more robust and fulfilling collegiate soccer
program.

Our Academies in the UK and the USA were developed to:

1.

Provide equal opportunity for collegiate soccer players to match the development of their counterparts around the world through year round training and playing.

2.

Provide multiple pathways for student-athletes on and off the field for their academic and soccer careers at different stages of their development.

3.

Match the European professional length of training and game-play that has previously not been available to U.S. collegiate players. Now, student-athletes can train and play with professional coaching staff during their critical development years of 18-21.

4.

Offer student-athletes a choice of degree programs that focuses on the students chosen career path that suit their career aspirations within a fully integrated student experience.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Picture

COMPETITION

UDA offers a variety of competition for players. We seek to provide a positive playing experience at a level of play that will challenge the players to reach their optimal playing level. This may include competition against semi-professional teams, top local amateur teams, as well as games in tournament competitions, leagues, or cup competitions.
Picture

ACADEMICS

UDA seeks students who are committed to academics, have a proven soccer excellence, maintain a positive attitude towards learning, have a strong ethical character, and are looking for multiple pathways for their soccer opportunities.

Picture

Development

UDA will provide appropriate opportunities for students to train with professional clubs as part of their development process. This will only be open to students who have shown the right character at the right level and have shown progress within the Academy structure at UDA. UDA's Visiting Coach Program welcomes visiting professional coaches from the UK and US.

Recruitment

UDA does not over recruit students into the program. Once part of our community, students can expect to train and play year-round with a minimum of 28 games per year. We recruit by position when needed and seek to keep a balance that fill three teams in our UK Academies and two teams in our USA Academy.
